Roll Cake - Jelly Roll

Hari ini kebetulan hari cerah, padahal semenjak seminggu ini cuaca ga keruan banget kadang hujan kadang panas kadang juga malah dingin. Kalo hari cerah gini, gue selalu pengen jalan keluar entah itu hanya jalan ke supermarket terdekat atau hanya liat-liat toko kue..:D yang jelas sepeda kesayangan selalu nemenin gue kemana-mana..:

Kali ini toko kue deket rumah yang bakal didatengin, disini tuh banyak banget toko-toko kecil yang ngejual kue atau roti. Kuenya juga dikemas cantik-cantik, kadang mikir loh bisanya mereka bikin kue secantik itu. Toppingnya juga macem-macem, tapi yang paling sering diliat sih kue dengan topping buttercream putih plus strawberry...:P jarang gue liat tuh kue atau cake yang ditopping sama buttercream warna warni atau fondant. Paling banter di topping pake coklat leleh trus tetep deh atasnya dikasih buah-buahan....

Yang bikin ngeces waktu liat roll cake...beeeeuu cantik-cantik banget, apalagi ngegulungnya tuh rapi jali deh *bikin sirik, ...sigh* Seperti biasa itu roll cake di kasih topping butter cream putih apa strawberry...gue ga beli soalnya udah keburu beli kue yang laen...qiqiqiqi...

Sampe tadi siang masih kepikiran sama si roll cake, asik juga kali kalo bikin dirumah, tapi mikir lagi bisa ga ya ngeggulungnya, soalnya gue tuh paling ga bisa ngeggulung roll cake, yang ada selalu patah atau malah ga keruan banget bentuknya...*jadi males booww mau bikin lagi* Ah tapi coba aja deh sapa tau kali ini berhasil....:P

Jelly Roll Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cups jelly or jam
For baking the cake, you will need a 15 1/2 by 10 1/2 inch pan, which is slightly larger than your average baking pan. Line the pan with aluminum foil, and then spray it with cooking oil.

Finally, you will need a large kitchen towel that is larger than the baking pan.

Combine the Jelly Roll Ingredients

Begin by preheating the oven to 375 degrees. Crack the eggs into a small bowl, and beat them together for three or four minutes until they are light and fluffy.

Pour the eggs into a larger bowl, then add the sugar and beat it in. Now we will beat in the water and the vanilla.

In a small bowl, mix together the flour, the baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, beating as you go.

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it out so that it fills all the corners. Bake the cake for 12 to 15 minutes, until a fork comes out cleanly from the center.

Roll Up the Cake

Spread the towel out on a clean surface, and sprinkle it liberally with powdered sugar. Turn the cake upside down onto the towel, and remove the aluminum foil.

Now, we will roll the cake up with the towel inside of it. Let the rolled cake cool for 20 minutes or so on a wire rack.

Spread the Jam on the Cake

While the cake is cooling, whisk the jam with a fork to make it more spreadable. Unroll the cake and spread the jam over the entire surface.

Serve the Jelly Roll Cake

Now we will reroll the cake, without the towel this time, sprinkle it with powdered sugar, and it should be ready to serve. Cut slices off the roll for a delicious and beautiful dessert. Enjoy.

Kalo mau liat di web yang asli ada videonya juga, emang bener ini resep simple banget telor nya juga irit, ga banyak kayak kalo kita bikin swiss roll. Trus buat isiannya gue isi ama heavy cream yang dikocok dan dikasih gula dikittt aja, plus dikasih irisan strawberry biar ada rasa segernya.

Walau masih belepotan ngegullungnya, tapi lumayan deh buat obat penasaran ...qiqiqiqi...

kalau di Jepang emang kuenya imut2 plus bikin gemes yah. Apalagi product bentonya itu. temen gw tergila2 ama bento. gw pengen bikin juga sih tapi u/ siapa? masak buat anak laki gw ama babenya??? bisa2 mereka di ketawain kali ama temen2 nya. Disini buat ukuran cowok bento kan terlalu pretty.

Now lets talk about bolu. Gw nih dah give up keknya bikin bolu. gk pernah bener ngegulung. ancur mulu. Mending gw mampir kerumah lo dah minta sepotong heheheh
